Football? Or basketball?

Ok, I wasn't going to rant about this. I thought it was a little thin, and it probably still is, but I just saw it again. For the third time tonight I saw a NY Giant motion a basketball shot after a good play. One was after a sack and one was just after the latest interception; I can't recall the other one. What the heck does that mean? How is that even expressing your excitement? Woo hoo! I scored two points in a sport I don't even play. Can't we just get back to the old standard of muscle flexing and the ass-slapping?
